Vermont Laser Works, LLC is a Laser Job Shop. In addition to

LASER CUTTING: We are in the process of putting together our LASER GUIDE which will be available on line. This will assist our clients in determining the best method for production of their build to print part or design. Lasers generally perform best when cutting thin gauge materials. And, every material has it’s own unique laser signature. We cut acrylic sheet up to 12MM, .5 in gauge, nominal 1/4”. ACRYLIC cuts cleanly leaving a polished edge. Like many laser-able materials, an adhesive backing can be applied prior to cutting the finished shape enabling the end user to be able to peel and stick. Many fabrics cut well and in many cases the cut edges are sealed as in the case of NYLON fabrics; the finished edges will not fray. Many industrial plastics cut cleanly and GASKETS are frequently manufactured by laser cutting. LASER ENGRAVING: Some material can be both cut and engraved, others can only be cut or engraved. In addition, we generally think of engraving as a rastering process where the laser behaves like a dot matrix printer firing and burning the material as the head transverses the material at an instructed DPI or “resolution”. We also engrave, using our cut mode; vector cutting , which enables us to “Etch” with very fine detail. These processes are used alone and in combination with each other depending upon the material and the project goals.

We can Certify to MIL-DTL-15024F, Type L—Plates, Tags, and Bans for the Identification of Equipment.

We are in the process of implementing Quality Assurance based on MIL-STD-45208A Inspection and MIL-STD-45662A Calibration.

There are additional Company, Defense Department, and ASTM specifications which we adhere to on a customer by customer basis. Please include requirements with you RFQ.

We have added Rotary Capability. We can turn parts up to 8.” in diameter x

16” long, and slightly larger. The rotary enables us to maintain perpendicularity of the beam to assure the highest quality engraving on cylindrical parts. Round parts for engraving can have a taper and other surface regularities.
